Library support to teachers

Media and information literacy is a term that describes the practices that allow people to manage, evaluate, and analyze the constant information flow coming from different types of media. Media and information literacy centers on understanding the role media plays in society, and being able to find, analyze and critically evaluate information.

At the university library we work daily to further students’ and staff members’ academic information literacy.

There is a great need to copy and use material produced by others for teaching purposes. Various different agreements and licences therefore regulate the usage of material in education. Some licences allow the copyright holder to specify how the material may be used.

The library acquires the literature required for all the courses available at the university. According to the library's acquisition policy electronic books are preferred to printed editions.

The library has the books required for all the courses available at the university. The number of copies purchased depends on the demand and the number of students in the course.
